Charlie Nicholas' predictions: Man Utd to run riot in Europa League

Charlie Nicholas provides us with his Europa League predictions as Manchester United and Southampton look to avoid upsets.

Both Premier League sides are favourites to secure three points on Thursday night as they face two of Europe's lesser known outfits, Zorya Luhansk and Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Here's what Charlie is predicting for the two clashes and his Sky Bet tips...

Manchester United v Zorya Luhansk (8.05pm)

There will be a few changes, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is starting, but I think Marcus Rashford will get a rest after establishing himself as a first-team starter.

That means Wayne Rooney should get another chance in the No 10 position, with Anthony Martial and Michael Carrick coming in as well, along with a couple of other players looking to prove a point.

Rooney won't be happy about losing his place but that adds the competitive edge to this side, with a quality set of players knowing they've got to do something to knock the likes of Rashford and Juan Mata back out of the side.

It was an impressive victory over Leicester at the weekend and I can't see anything other than another convincing win, so what I quite fancy is five plus goals at 6/1 and Martial hat-trick at 28/1.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva v Southampton (6pm)

This won't be an easy game for the Saints, as the Israeli side are strong at home. They battered Celtic at the Turner Stadium and should've put them out of the competition.

Southampton have improved and there's a nice bit of momentum, but I think Claude Puel will make a few changes.

Charlie Austin of Southampton (10) celebrates with Virgil van Dijk (17) as he scores their first goal during the Premier League match at West Ham

I'd be tempted to give Charlie Austin another 60-65 minutes because when you're feeling good about yourself, especially after so many injuries, you just want to keep going.

Shane Long should get a chance to play alongside Austin and give Dusan Tadic a rest, with Jay Rodriguez the other one who will be looking to come in for Nathan Redmond.

The big threat for Southampton is Hapoel's striker Ben Sahar. Anthony Nwakaeme is the other really dangerous one as he is strong and quick and will get at them. This is a dangerous game and I think it will be a draw.

Charlie predicts: 1-1 and Sahar to score first (33/1 with Sky Bet)
