Huddersfield Town striker Steve Mounie wants to create his own legacy amid comparisons with former Chelsea man Didier Drogba.
Mounie, the club's record £11.5m signing, showed he is capable of mixing it with the Premier League's best with a debut double against Crystal Palace on the opening weekend of the season.
The 22-year-old's all-action and powerful performance saw him compared with Drogba, who Mounie has hailed as one of his football idols.
However, despite admitting he would love to follow in the Ivory Coast striker's footsteps, the Huddersfield man wants to create his own history.
"I watched a lot of players, but Drogba was one of the best," Mounie told Sky Sports ahead of Huddersfield's clash with West Ham United on Monday Night Football.
"He's a great player and an example for me. I'm trying to follow his steps, but I'm Steve Mounie, and I've got to try and make my own history."
Huddersfield have taken seven points so far this season and are yet to concede a goal, which handed boss David Wagner the Manager of the Month award for August.
Wagner's side were hot favourites for relegation before a ball was kicked, but their fast start has given them clear confidence they can more than compete at Premier League level.
However, Mounie is not getting carried away at this stage of the campaign.
"It's just the beginning - I try to do my best for the team," he said.
"It was a really great start against Crystal Palace - but it was only the first game. There's a long way to go - we have to be aware. We need to be at our best every game as the Premier League is very hard. If you want to stay up, then you have to be strong every weekend.
"We are all together. There is great togetherness in this team. It helped as we started all together and we did the preparation early."
