Swansea boss Paul Clement was pleased with the work-rate displayed by Tammy Abraham as he scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Huddersfield.
The on-loan Chelsea striker executed the role of poacher to a tee at the Liberty Stadium to give the Swans their first home Premier League win of the season, with two close-range efforts either side of half-time.
The first came after Tom Carroll squared the ball following goalkeeper Jonas Lossl's poor clearance, while the second came after Jordan Ayew had dinked the ball past a helpless Lossl, Abraham making sure from inches out.
Clement was impressed with the efforts of the 20-year-old England U21 international and paid tribute to him and his side's tactics ahead of the first goal.
"We know he [Abraham] has got that ability, but what I was more pleased with today was his work rate, his running in behind, he did better with his back to goal and that's more like what we expect," said Clement.
"It wasn't luck because we studied Huddersfield in lots of detail. They are a team who play out from the back and there is a certain risk associated with that - we practised those situations. It didn't happen in the first 42-43 minutes, but we kept at it and I have to say that we forced that error."
Huddersfield boss David Wagner had played down the importance of the fixture in the build-up this week, saying that it was not a 'must-win' game, but Clement disagreed, saying he knew the value of the win.
He said: "It was a very important game, we knew that after the start that we've had and particularly with the start we've had at home. So we wanted to put a good performance in today for our supporters who really got behind the team.
"I'm most pleased about the performance that the players put in. We've been defending reasonably well and that's four clean sheets out of eight which is a good standard. But we hadn't really hit the ground running with our offensive play, but today [we had[ much more offensive threat, runners that were going in behind, creating opportunities.
"We got our first goal from some misfortune but that came from our aggressive pressurising which we did throughout the game and gave us that platform to go on in the second half. The second goal came early and then its just about managing the game."
