Barnsley sign Gary Gardner and Oli McBurnie on loan

Barnsley have completed the moves of Aston Villa's Gary Gardner and Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie on season-long loans.

Gardner has made over 100 appearances at Championship level and has previously spent loan spells at Coventry, Sheffield Wednesday, Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

The 25-year-old has scored once in 42 league appearances for Villa, making his debut back in December 2011 where they beat Chelsea 3-1 at Chelsea.

Barnsley's second signing, McBurnie, 21, will embark on his first season in the Championship following his switch from South Wales.

The striker has featured as a substitute in all three of Swansea's league games this season and will also continue international duty with Scotland's U21 squad before returning to Oakwell.
