Victor Valdes will leave Middlesbrough this summer following the club's relegation.

Boro have reached an agreement with the former Barcelona and Manchester United goalkeeper to cancel the second 12 months of a two-year deal he signed last summer.

Valdes' exit at the end of June means Boro will be without both this season's first-choice keepers when they resume life in the Championship.

The Spaniard started 28 Premier League games last term, while his place for the other 10 went to Brad Guzan, who is joining MLS side Atlanta United this summer.
