Manchester United have been drawn alongside Benfica, Basel and CSKA Moscow in Group A of the Champions League.

Jose Mourinho's men are back in the event after winning the Europa League last season.

United famously beat Benfica in the 1968 European Cup final at Wembley and currently have a pair of Benfica old boys in their ranks.

The Premier League outfit signed Victor Lindelof from the Portuguse side over the summer and midfielder Nemanja Matic is also a former Benfica man.

Benfica are Champions League regulars, reaching the quarter finals in 2015/16, and have won the Portuguese title for the last four years in a row.

And Basel have been even more dominant in Switzerland, and they are chasing their ninth consecutive title this season.

They reached the last 16 of the Champions League in 2015, beating Liverpool and finishing above the Reds in their group, and have only lost three out of 10 matches in the tournament against English clubs, albeit two of those came against Arsenal last season.
