Arsenal are tasked with bringing Manchester City sensational start to the season to an end when they travel to the Etihad on Nissan Super Sunday.

City's flying start has seen them go unbeaten in their opening 16 games in all competitions and has sparked speculation over whether they could go through the entire campaign undefeated.

Live Nissan Super Sunday

The last side to do so in the Premier League were their opponents this weekend, Arsenal in 2003/04, while the Gunners were also the last side to beat Pep Guardiola's men, in the FA Cup semi-final in April.

City have won their last 14 games on the spin - a new club record - and scored 49 already this term, but Arsenal head to Manchester in fine form themselves.

Arsene Wenger's men have lost just one of their last 13 - a run which has gone under the radar to some extent - and victory over the Premier League title favourites would certainly grab everyone's attention.

Team news

Manchester City have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Sunday's clash. Captain Vincent Kompany remains on the sidelines with a calf injury, but manager Guardiola hopes to have him back in training after the international break.

Left-back Benjamin Mendy is the only other senior absentee due to a long-term knee injury.

Arsenal will be hoping Sead Kolasinac overcomes a hip injury in time to feature at the Etihad. The Bosnia-Herzegovina international limped out of last weekend's win over Swansea after scoring and laying on an assist, but Wenger expects him to be fit.

Wenger changed his entire team for the Europa League draw with Red Star Belgrade but the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette are in line to return.

However, Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Santi Cazorla (ankle), Calum Chambers (hip), Danny Welbeck and David Ospina (both groin) all remain sidelined.

Opta stats

Manchester City have only won one of their last nine matches against Arsenal in all competitions (D4 L4), with that victory coming in this exact fixture last season.

Arsenal's 2-0 victory at the Etihad in January 2015 remains the Gunners' only away Premier League victory against the 'big six' since the start of the 2014/15 season (D7 L9).

Watch a preview of Sunday's Premier League fixtures including Manchester City against Arsenal, and Jose Mourinho returns to face former club, Chelsea.

Manchester City have won all nine of their Premier League games in which they've led this season, while Arsenal have won the most games (3) and points (9) from losing positions so far.

Manchester City are the third team in Premier League history to have won as many as 28 points from their first 10 games of the season. Chelsea (2005-06) and Manchester City (2011-12) also managed this, but had inferior GD to the current Manchester City effort. They both won the Premier League title at the end of those campaigns.

The Citizens have scored 20 goals in their last four home Premier League games this season - that's more than 18 of the other 19 clubs in the division have netted in total in their opening 10 games of 2017-18.

The Gunners have won just 17 of the 45 away points available to them in 2017, winning five, drawing two and losing eight of their 15 games on the road.

Ahead of Manchester City's Super Sunday clash with Arsenal, Tubes ask Leroy Sane the big questions about his colleagues on the pitch.

Pep Guardiola has won four of his five home meetings with Arsene Wenger in all competitions (D1) - his sides have never kept a clean sheet in that run but have scored 15 goals to Arsenal's 5.

Theo Walcott has scored more away goals at the Etihad Stadium than any other Arsenal player (3). However, he hasn't started a Premier League game since April, playing just 46 minutes in the competition this season.

Coming into this matchday, Leroy Sane has been involved in more goals than any other Premier League player this season (6 goals, 5 assists). The German scored both home and away against the Gunners in the Premier League last season.

Sergio Aguero has scored five goals in his last seven matches for Manchester City against Arsenal in all competitions.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admits he is a fan of Arsenal's Mesut Ozil and feels the Premier League is a better division with him playing in it.

Merson's prediction

Arsenal went to Chelsea a few weeks ago and got a comfortable goalless draw and I thought the penny had dropped. They did it two years ago at Man City and won, although [Santi] Cazorla was in the team then and he was their best player.

But since that Chelsea game, I said, 'OK right, let's wait and see until the next big game and see if the penny has dropped, or was that just fortunate?' And it all depends on which way he [Arsene Wenger] sets up…

But I cannot go for anything other than a City win given the way they play. If anyone is going to go there and win, believe it or not, you would go for Arsenal as they play a flamboyant way, they open the game up.

And if you are going to beat City, you have to have a go. There is no point sitting back and saying, 'right, let's try and nick something on the break,' as they have too many good players who are going to break you open before the end of the game. But I am going to go 3-2 to City as I think there will be goals.

Betting

Manchester City are Sky Bet's 4/9 favourites with the bookmaker holding Arsenal at odds of 5/1, their longest ever price to win a Premier League match on record.

The Gunners have far longer odds stacked against them to win the title at 66/1, as Pep Guardiola's men are considered 1/5 shots following their record-breaking start. Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus share favouritism in the first goalscorer market at 11/4 apiece, while Alexandre Lacazette is considered the visitors' main threat at 7/1 to break the deadlock.
