Man of the Match and Player Grades Poll for Everton vs Bournemouth

Niasse saves Koeman’s blushes

Everton huffed and puffed today but finally won 2-1 against AFC Bournemouth despite going down against the visitors.

The Blues dominated the first half but were unable to break through. Despite having plenty of possession, there weren’t too many clear-cut chances. The visitors picked their poison and gave Everton the wide spaces, but as everyone knows, our only wide players are our fullbacks and despite plenty of crosses getting pinged in, nothing came from them.

It all changed soon after the break though with Josh King making a run through the middle and easily losing a befuddled Mason Holgate before finishing neatly in the far corner.

Ronald Koeman rung the changes immediately after, with Davy Klaassen and Wayne Rooney going off, and Tom Davies and Oumar Niasse coming on to loud cheers.

The Senegalese striker promptly saved Koeman’s job, scoring twice and putting the Blues ahead with some clinical finishing.
