Youngster Kieran Dowell continued his hot streak as scored once and assisted another for Nottingham Forest to send them on their way to a 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. In a midweek game before that, Forest had slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Reading, with the recently-turned twenty year old easily their best player on the pitch and recording an assist as well. The Reds now sit in 9th place in the Championship, with Dowell having scored six times with three assists in 12 appearances, including a recent hattrick.

Another midfielder Joe Williams continued his good run of form as well, guiding Barnsley to a 2-0 win over Birmingham City days after scoring a tremendous winner against Burton in a 4-2 victory. Williams has been a key man for the Tykes all season, and the back-to-back wins eases the pressure on manager Paul Heckingbottom as his side climb up to 16th.

On-loan forward Henry Onyekuru had a quiet week, with his Anderlecht side soundly beaten in the Champions League by Paris St. Germain, followed up with a 0-0 draw against Club Brugge in the Jupiler League where he came on after 71 minutes to try and find the winner.

Back in the Championship, the versatile Callum Connolly has been featuring in central midfield for Ipswich, who lost 3-1 at Cardiff midweek followed by a 3-0 win over Preston over the weekend, to climb into 8th place.

Leeds United meanwhile are slumping badly, having lost five of their last six games. Matthew Pennington played most of the loss at home against Derby, and then was benched for the loss at Brentford on Saturday.

At the bottom of the Championship, Bolton Wanderers climbed off the foot of the table with a draw at Sunderland followed by a win Saturday against Norwich. Antonee Robinson picked up an assist midweek playing at the left back position in both games.

Birmingham City haven’t won or scored in the last four games, and on-loan central midfielder Liam Walsh has not had a chance to play in any of those games either.

The tough times at the Black Cats continues as manager Paul Grayson has been fired and Everton pair Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway continue to be left out of the squad after some pretty insipid displays.
