Just like that, the final game of the 2016/17 Premier League season is upon Everton with a trip to the Emirates to take on Arsenal.

The Blues will look back on this season with mostly pride, with a top seven finish and European football secured in Ronald Koeman’s first campaign.

It has not been a happy end to the campaign, though, with the club limping to the finish line over recent weeks given they’ve had very little to play for.

Still, a win in London would give the fans optimism heading into the summer and conclude things nicely. Here are the key stats ahead of the game.

Teams

This will be the 50th Premier League meeting between these two sides, home and away.

Everton have travelled to Arsenal 24 times in the Premier League era and managed just one win.

That win percentage of 4.2% is the club’s second worst at any ground in that era, just behind Chelsea. On a points-per-game basis, they’re Everton’s least favourite opponents.

Expect goals, just not for the Blues. They’ve conceded 54 away to the Gunners in the Premier League, their worst tally against any one side.

Luckily, Ronald Koeman has a better record against Arsene Wenger than his team. He’s faced the Frenchman 12 times to date, winning five, drawing five and losing just twice.

Players

Petr Cech loves playing Everton. In 21 meetings in the Premier League, he’s won ten, drawn six and lost five times.

If Leighton Baines starts this game, it will his 296th in the Premier League for Everton. That’ll put him second on the all-time list behind Tim Howard. He’ll also become the full-back with the most appearances in the club’s history.

Ross Barkley could be playing his final game in the Royal Blue. If he does play, it will be his 150th in the Premier League, the 20th player to reach the tally for the club.

The battle between Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Golden Boot will dominate the headlines so let’s see how they compare. The Chilean has managed just one Premier League goal against the Blues. In contrast, has two against the Gunners.

Should the Belgian find his scoring boots; it will take joint 16th in the all-time scoring charts, level with Alex Young. In terms of league goals, he could enter the top 20.
