Theo Walcott has had a medical at Everton on Tuesday ahead of a £20m move to Goodison Park.

The Toffees have pipped Southampton to land the Arsenal star, who will become their second January addition.

Walcott travelled to Merseyside to have a medical at Finch Farm.

His move will be completed in the next 24 hours, barring any complications, ending his 12-year association with Arsenal.

Walcott appeared as a substitute at Bournemouth on Sunday in what will be his last game for the club.

Discussing his interest in the winger last week, Everton boss Sam Allardyce said: "It would be a great addition in my opinion to come and join us.

“For two or three reasons really - goalscoring threat, pace, experience and he’s good on assists from wide areas in terms of his crossing abilities.

“If it’s at all possible, that would be very nice."
