Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has seemingly hit back at Borussia Dortmund fans following his return to the fold.

The Gabonese international was jeered in the early stages of the draw with Freiburg, with fans also unveiling a banner which read "No player is bigger than our club."

It seems though, that Aubameyang has responded in an Instagram post, captioned: “Hate me or love me”, snapping back at the supporters that once adored him.

Arsenal remain hopeful of completing a deal for Aubameyang after having two bids rejected for his sevices.

Dortmund have made it clear that they are willing to do business, but only on their terms, demanding around £60m.

Meanwhile, Swiss goalkeeper Roman Bürki has spoken out in defence of his Gabonese teammate.

“In the East and West stands, people come [to the stadium] to whistle and boo their own team," he said.

"The Dortmund number one insisted that fans should “stay at home”, as “these people have no idea about football and [probably] have nothing better to do.”

Michael Zorc, sporting director of Dortmund, in an interview with German TV, suggested: “We are ready to realise a transfer under certain parameters, but only if these [parameters] are fully met.

"He confirmed that “Arsenal have made several attempts thus far, but we have refused them all.”

As Aumbameyang seeks his exit, it is now up to Arsene Wenger to strike the deal that would surely hoist Arsenal into a more favourable position in the Premier League table.
