Romelu Lukaku signed for Manchester United on Monday. You probably read about it .

The burly Belgian completed his huge £75m switch from Everton to Old Trafford to team up with his good mate Paul Pogba and indulge in the type of Instagram-friendly bromance that will make United's marketing department salivate.

United are Lukaku's fourth Premier League club after Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion and Everton, with his move from the latter catapulting him into the kind of stratosphere that features only the most expensive footballers in the world.

Because there are now only two players in football history that have had more money spent on them than Lukaku, not in terms of his move to United but the cumulative fees he's commanded across the course of his career.

Because after Chelsea paid £18milion for the forward in 2011, Everton shelled out £28million on him in 2014 and now, United have paid £75million for him in 2017.

Those were the days, eh Chelsea fans? (

In total, that means a grand total of £121million has been spent on the big man in his career, placing him at No. 3 on the money list.

Who's above him? Well here's the top six...

So that's top spot for the Argentinean, with Manchester United being able to say that they have, at one stage or another, had the top three most expensive players in world football pulling on their shirt.

One was good, one was rubbish and we don't know just how the other one will do yet, but that's not important right now is it?!
