Tottenham believe Danny Rose will stay after heart-to-heart talks with boss Mauricio Pochettino.

And Spurs insist they will reject any bid for Rose from Chelsea after Sunday’s game at Wembley, with Antonio Conte expected to make a £60million move for the England left-back before the window closes.

Rose, currently out injured until October, has been on Chelsea and Manchester United’s radar for a while – and his recent outburst attacking Tottenham’s transfer policy and wage structure put his future in doubt.

But it has emerged that Pochettino had a long chat with defender at the club’s Enfield training complex to smooth over the row.

Pochettino told Rose that, despite his public criticism of the club, he was a valued member of the team and was part of the future he is trying to create.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s Austrian defender Kevin Wimmer is expected to sign for West Brom in a £15m deal within the
next 48 hours.

Tottenham will allow flop Wimmer, a £4.3m signing two years ago from Cologne, to leave for the Baggies after the arrival of £42m Colombian centre-back Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

And that will pave the way for Albion’s former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans to join rivals City in a £27.5m deal this week.
