Fernando Llorente has completed his transfer from Swansea to Tottenham .

Spurs won the race for the striker's signature ahead of Premier League champions Chelsea , who saw their attempts to land him hijacked by their London rivals.

Llorente has signed a two-year deal with Mauricio Pochettino's side.

The target man, 32, had appeared set for Chelsea and a reunion with his former Juventus boss Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

But Spurs' late move sees him head to north London in what was another transfer setback for Conte, who have also missed out on Romelu Lukaku and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

Llorente joined Swansea last summer and bagged 15 goals in 28 league starts to help the Welsh side stay up.

And he will provide Premier League ready back-up for star man Harry Kane, something that has been a priority for boss Pochettino this summer.

Swansea allowed Llorente to leave after completing the signing of Wilfried Bony from Manchester City, who returns to the club after moving away in January 2015.
