Clyne blow

Nathaniel Clyneinsists he is happy to stay at Southampton.

The England defender is out of contract at the end of next season and has so far failed to agree a new deal with Ronald Koeman's men.

Manchester United are monitoring the situation with Louis van Gaal keen to bring in a right-back this summer.

But Clyne has indicated he would be happy to remain on the south coast beyond this term.

"I'm enjoying my football for Southampton, playing week-in, week-out and it’s an up-and-coming club, so, yeah, I’m happy playing for Southampton and happy to stay at Southampton as well.”

Daley Blind knows Manchester United need to be fighting for honours next season - but has backed Louis van Gaal's methods to get them back among the elite.

He said: “I think we will compete for trophies next season because a club like United has to be fighting.

"We want to win the league, of course, that’s the main thing. That and to play in the Champions League again.

“He [Van Gaal] has his own philosophy and approach which players have to adapt to. In the end you see that it makes you better and it makes a better team. I think everybody has realised that now.

“It’s important that we have stuck together as a team, even when it’s not going so well.”

Phil Jones says he is ready to return for Manchester United and help them clinch a top-four spot.

"I'm happy to play in the Under-21s and get some fitness," said Jones.

"The lads did well. I feel I'm ready to go again and hopefully I can make the squad on Saturday.

"Hopefully, I'll recover on Tuesday, then train on Wednesday and Thursday, and see how it goes. I'll take it from there.

"[As a team], we've got a long way to go, as there are still three games coming up, three massive games, and we've got to approach it in the right way.

"I'm sure we can do that and cement that top-four finish."

New De Gea deal could mean Falcao stay

Radamel Falcao could remain at Manchester United if David de Gea signs a new contract with the club.

Both Falcao and De Gea are represented by agent Jorge Mendes and United have intensified their efforts in recent weeks to keep their Spanish goalkeeper, report the Manchester Evening News.

Falcao, who has not scored since January 31, could form part of an agreement whereby United decide to keep him for a second season to pacify Mendes.

United sources insist that, despite four goals in 27 appearances, 29-year-old Falcao is not certain to leave Old Trafford and his future is intertwined with that of De Gea.

Lloris talks?

French publication L'Equipe report that United are in talks with Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris.

The Red Devils will need a top class replacement should David De Gea leave for Real Madrid, and Lloris would fit the bill.

United could reportedly bid £25million PLUS Victor Valdes for the Frenchman.

Lloris could be keen on the move - if the Old Trafford outfit make the top four.
