Here are today's Manchester United-related stories from today's Daily Mirror...

I'm no hero, says De Gea

David De Gea has dismissed talk of moving to Real Madrid and admits he is embarrassed by the praise he is receiving.

De Gea insists he is happy at Manchester United in response to Spanish sources claiming Real want him to replace Iker Casillas next summer.

The Spanish goalkeeper, who joined the Old Trafford giants from Atletico Madrid for £17.8million in 2011, said: “Those are rumours. I am happy here.”

De Gea is in excellent form going into Sunday’s clash with Chelsea at Old Trafford and he made a world-class save against Everton’s Bryan Oviedo on his last appearance at the Theatre of Dreams.

Valdes training

Victor Valdes has been offered the chance to resurrect his career by Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.

Valdes, 32, who is a free agent after his contract at Barcelona expired in the summer, has been working his way back to fitness following a serious knee injury last season.

Brendan Rodgers has cooled his interest in the Spanish international goalkeeper and former Blaugrana boss Van Gaal has stepped in to give him a lifeline.

United have confirmed that Valdes will continue his rehabilitation at Carrington under the supervision of their medical staff.

German international wanted

Germany winger Karim Bellarabi has become a hot property among the Premier League's clubs, writes John Cross.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Newcastle ALL had scouts watching the Bayer Leverkusen star in his side’s 2-0 Champions League win over Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday.

Bellarabi, 24, has been in impressive form this season as Leverkusen have made a good start in the Bundesliga and climbed to the top of  Champions League Group C.

It has taken him a long time to make the breakthrough, but Bellarabi has made it into the Germany squad and played the full 90 minutes of their recent Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland.

United are like a mafia, says Keane

Roy Keane has had a fresh swipe at Manchester United, claiming the club is 'like a Mafia'.

The Irishman  has recently launched an attack on his former club and in particular Sir Alex Ferguson, in his explosive autobiography The Second Half.

Keane claimed United were "not the same club" as when he was there and now he has stated there is a situation where everyone is afraid of speaking out.

"It's almost a Mafia situation. When I look at United now, there's just a lot of propaganda," said Keane.

"A lot of nonsense gets spoken, a lot of ex-players now work for the club and they try to kid you on."

Robben will not move

Arjen Robben will is not even slightly considering a move to Manchester United, according to the Telegraph.

The Dutch striker was high on Louis van Gaal's transfer wish-list this summer, but says that he does not want to leave Munich as his family are happy there.

He said: "It is the perfect club with the perfect manager for me. My family is happy, we have lived here for five years and I am exactly at the place I want to be. It cannot be better than it is at the moment, so you don’t need to have thoughts about other clubs and other leagues.

"If you see me again in three years in the Premier League, then who knows, but at the moment, there is not even one per cent of me thinking about going to England or anywhere.”

Paul Pogba is set to reject a move back to England in favour of signing a new deal at Juventus, according to the Daily Star.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with a move for the central midfielder, who has reportedly been offered a £3million-a-year contract in Turin.

The deal would see his stay at the Serie A club extended to 2019 and could sign by the end of the week.

Pogba's representative Walid Ben Zefti said: “Paul is happy in Turin, the negotiations for the renewal are underway, they could take a long time just as they could be closed very quickly, we’ll see.

“It depends on several things, not just the money.”

Valdes to reject contract?

According to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, Victor Valdes will refuse any contract offer from Manchester United.

Valdes is currently undergoing a training regime with the Red Devils and could be offered a contract until the end of the season.

It is thought that he would be back-up to David De Gea, but Valdes is unlikely to want to sit on the bench, as he looks to re-establish his career after a serious injury.

The goalkeeper was released by Barcelona at the end of last season and is yet to sign a deal with anyone, but has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
