Manchester United have cooled their interest in Antoine Griezmann and Gareth Bale - and it's all down to the form of Anthony Martial.

That is according to The Sun, who say Jose Mourinho has been convinced by the Frenchman that he has the tools to perform on a consistent basis for the Red Devils.

United have been heavily linked with the La Liga duo over the last few transfer windows, but Griezmann is having an under-par season so far and Bale continues to have his injury troubles.

Martial has six goals in 13 appearances in the Premier League so far this term, but only six of those outings have been starts.

United fans loved Pogba embarrassing Richarlison

Manchester United fans enjoyed what they were watching for the most part as the Red Devils beat Watford 4-2 at Vicarage Road on Tuesday.

They stormed into a three-goal lead in the first half through Ashley Young - who bagged two stunning efforts against his former team - and Anthony Martial.

After the break the Hornets fired back from the penalty spot through Troy Deeney before Abdoulaye Doucoure gave them hope of an historic comeback.

But Jesse Lingard killed the game off with an 86th minute effort to ensure the Red Devils would be returning to the north with all three points in the bag.

Mourinho stunned United fans by sprinting onto pitch and shouting at Rashford

Jose Mourinho is known for his fiery temperament, but even he surprised the Manchester United fans who tuned into Tuesday night's game against Watford.

With just seconds left on the clock, and seemingly little happening as United saw out their 4-2 win, he leaped from his seat and charged onto the pitch.

Once there he barked instructions at Marcus Rashford, who apparently took his manager's words on board and sprinted back into position.

Red Devils supporters took to Twitter to comment on the Portuguese's sudden outburst, with many wondering why he felt the need to confront the young forward.

After the match, Mourinho heaped praise on his team before highlighting one area of concern in regards to Anthony Martial.

"Yes, I am pleased [with Martial]," said Mourinho. "I think he suffers a little bit with accumulation of matches. I could feel that in the second half he was going down and down and down.

"He's still a young guy and his body, his biological situation has space to improve but in the first half, during the time, he had strength and explosion in his legs."

It's not clear why Mourinho shouted at Rashford, but it seems that a similar issue was bugging him about the man he rotates with the France international.
