Juventus are unconvinced they'll sign Emre Can in the January transfer window despite major interest in the star, according to reports in Italy.

The German has been a stand-out performer for Liverpool so far this season, and it's unlikely the Reds will want to see the back of him.

But according to Tuttosport, the Old Lady, who prepared a Deadline Day move for the 23-year-old on Thursday, will at least attempt to bring him to Serie A.

Can's contract is understood to expire next summer and Juventus could prise him away for as little as £9million, but it seems Liverpool are ready to put up a fight, and crucially, Juventus know this.

Liverpool laugh off claims they would have sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £183m

Liverpool have rubbished claims they were happy to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £183million, writes Liverpool Echo's Neil Jones.

Barca club director Albert Soler claimed on Saturday that Anfield officials had told the Catalan giants they would part with their prize asset for €200million, report the Liverpool Echo.

That claim has been robustly denied by senior Liverpool officials, who insist that they never placed any such valuation on the player and that Barcelona's claims are false.

Liverpool's stance throughout Barcelona's protracted and increasingly desperate pursuit of Coutinho has always been that the Brazilian was not for sale at any price, and that negotiations would not even be considered.

They believe, with justification, that they remained true to the statement issued by the club's owners on August 11, and that Barcelona were aware of their stance up to and including Friday's deadline day in Spain.

Barcelona failed with three formal offers for the 24-year-old, who handed in a transfer request on the eve of the new Premier League season last month.

The Anfield club joined Arsenal in launching a raid on the French club for the in-demand player.

And according to reports in his homeland , Monaco rejected an £82million off from Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp had already completed the signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal on Thursday.

But he wanted to add even more quality to the middle of the park.
