Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Newcastle and England winger Andros Townsend.
The Eagles triggered the £13million release clause in Townsend's contract and the 25-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal at Selhurst Park.
Townsend returns to London just six months after leaving Tottenham Hotspur to join Newcastle.
But despite four goals in 13 games and a number of impressive performances towards the end of the season, he couldn't prevent the Magpies drop into the Championship.
Rafa Benitez had grown resigned to losing 11-cap Townsend this summer, with the player wanting an immediate return to the top-flight and given the clause in his deal on Tyneside.
"I'm extremely delighted," declared Townsend, speaking after clinching his move to Palace.
"I had chats with the manager and chairman before I signed and I'm pleased to a part of Crystal Palace's future. By the sounds of things it's going to be a bright one and I can't wait to get started."
Eagles chairman Steve Parish added: "It’s fantastic that we’ve managed to get a player of Andros’ quality into the Club.
"He has played in the Premier League for a number of years and represented England on many occasions and yet he's still only 24-years-old.
“Andros is another exciting attacking talent that we have added to our ranks and I can’t wait to see him in a red and blue shirt in the very near future.”
Palace have also sold striker Dwight Gayle, who has joined Newcastle for £10million.
