One of Manchester United 's brightest young talents could be bound for Germany, according to reports.

Under 17 World Cup-winner Angel Gomes is dragging his feet on agreeing a new deal at Old Trafford and sparking worries he could move elsewhere.

Mesut Ozil transfer to Manchester United is a "shoo-in", claims Arsenal legend Ian Wright

Mesut Ozil to Manchester United is a "shoo-in", according to Arsenal legend Ian Wright.

United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on the Arsenal midfielder who is also a target for Barcelona as he is out of contract in the summer.

Mirror Sport revealed United’s interest in Ozil and he is also free to sign a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona from January 1.

Wright told the BBC: “Mesut Ozil on a free to Manchester United on a free looks a shoo-in. I’m sure Jose would love to do that.

“That would frighten me to death. He is a great talent and having great players around him would lift him up as well.

“I’m sure him and his agent would not push it this far if they were going to sign (for Arsenal)."

Meanwhile, Ozil is a doubt for Arsenal's clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday night.

The German sat out the dramatic win over Burnley through illness and Arsene Wenger admitted the visit of Huddersfield may come too soon.

Arsenal host United on Saturday and Wenger will hope to have Ozil available by then - even if it could serve as an audition of sorts to Mourinho.

Manchester United squad revealed as Jose Mourinho leaves some major names at home for trip to Watford

Manchester United have made their customary train journey to London ahead of their clash with eighth-place Watford on Tuesday night.

And those who boarded offered a glimpse into the plans Jose Mourinho has for the impressive north London minnows.

Mourinho has recalled Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind and Jesse Lingard for the 8pm kick-off at Vicarage Road, reports the Manchester Evening News.

However, Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were not among the travelling squad spotted by photographers at Stockport Station on Monday evening.

Mourinho dropped Darmian, Blind and Lingard - who started in the 1-0 Champions League defeat to Basel last week - from the weekend squad at home to Brighton but has restored them for the game at Vicarage Road.

Mkhitaryan returned to the matchday squad after he was overlooked for the 18 versus Newcastle and Basel and came on in the Brighton victory.

Shaw was on the bench for the Newcastle and Basel games but his wait for a first league appearance of the campaign looks set to continue.

Fellaini started in Switzerland and came on against Newcastle and Brighton, having recently recovered from a knee injury. Shaw and Mkhitaryan were photographed in training pictures released by United on Monday afternoon.
