Barcelona are planning to make a British record bid for Philippe Coutinho this week.
The Spanish giants will offer £110m plus £30m in add-ons and are confident the deal will get done with Liverpool star Coutinho desperate to move to the Nou Camp in January.
Barcelona had three bids turned down in the summer with their final offer worth £114m but that included a string of spurious add-ons.
They believe this new offer will be big enough to tempt Liverpool with Coutinho pushing to move now rather than wait for the summer.
Coutinho, who missed Monday’s win at Burnley with a thigh injury, put in a transfer request in the summer but was blocked from moving.
Brazil star Coutinho is not expected to play in the FA Cup against Everton on Friday night and will then have another nine days to resolve his future before Liverpool play again.
Liverpool will want the situation resolved one way or another by then.
