Arsenal have been joined by Barcelona in the race to sign Schalke star Leon Goretzka.

Arsene Wenger is hoping to profit from the Bundesliga side's sloppiness as the 22-year-old's contract expires next summer.

But reports now suggest that the Blaugrana are keen and sent scouts to watch him in action for Schalke last weekend.

Goretzka impressed in the 2-0 win over RB Leipzig with rumours suggesting that Liverpool target Naby Keita is also under consideration.

A potential debut could come against Stoke on Friday evening in the Premier League 2.
