Manchester City officials are already in Chile ready to complete a move for Alexis Sanchez, if City can agree a deal with Arsenal.

The Gunners have rejected a £50million offer for the Chile forward.

Yet City are set to return with a renewed offer, with Pep Guardiola desperate to land the 28-year-old before Thursday night’s transfer deadline.

Sanchez, has less than 10 months left on his deal at the Emirates Stadium and has no intention of signing a fresh deal despite a contract offer of £300,000-a-week.

Sanchez, who scored 30 goals in all competitions last season, is understood to be keen to reunite with Guardiola, with whom he worked at Barcelona.

He is currently in his homeland on international duty ahead of Chile’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers - the first of which, against Paraguay, kicks off on Thursday night 30 minutes after the transfer deadline in England closes.

City have sent club officials to the Chilean capital of Santiago and a medical isn’t expected to be an issue for a player who has made 145 appearances for Arsenal since arriving in 2014.

According to reports in his homeland, City already have prepared a four-year deal for Sanchez, worth £10.8million per year.

Arsenal have insisted that Sanchez will not leave unless they receive mega money this late in the window.
