Gary Neville has questioned Danny Rose's professionalism after the Tottenham defender moaned about his salary, questioned the club's transfer policy and insisted he will leave London for a northern club at some point in the future.

Rose, who has not played since picking up an injury in January, told the Sun: “As with everyone else in my team, in my opinion, I am worth more than I am getting.

“In any walk of life, if you think you are worth a certain amount, why settle for less? I am not that person.

“If I get to levels I reached last season — and this goes out to everybody — I will make sure I get what I am worth.”

Rose also demanded Tottenham sign players he didn't 'have to google'.

His comments have drawn a mixed reaction from both ex-players and Spurs fans.

Former Manchester Untied and England defender Neville tweeted: "WTF is Danny Rose thinking!

"Imagine walking into the training ground having not been fit for months and months. Morning lads!"

He added: "Wanting out isn't an issue. How you handle it and go about it is. [He] should have stuck to dealing with it in a professional manner."

Lord Sugar, who was Spurs' chairman between 1991 and 2001, went further, labelling Rose's comments as "totally ungrateful".

He tweeted: "Disgusting article by Danny Rose. Unprofessional and totally ungrateful. It's demoralising and disappointing. Chuck him out."

Mirror Sport columnist Stan Collymore added: "Hmm, Danny Rose breaks ranks. My fear about THFC from last season. Add or players have excuse to bail out. Very interesting timing too."
