West Brom believe Jake Livermore is in the right frame of mind despite his clash with a fan.

Livermore angrily confronted a West Ham fan who abused him over the death of his infant son during the Baggies’ 2-1 defeat on Tuesday.

The England star waded into the crowd at London Stadium after being taken off to confront a supporter alleged to have made comments about Jake junior, who died in 2014.

The Hammers are considering banning the individual after identifying him.

Boss Alan Pardew is confident Livermore will make Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie at Exeter.

“He’s OK. I’ll take him to Exeter with no concern really about his playing ability,” said Pardew.

“He’s fit and well. He was hurt by the situation but the media have been very supportive and he’s found that a comfort, so he’ll be OK.”

Pardew believes Livermore will escape an FA rap.

“I don’t think there will be a charge,” he added. “The FA and everybody else are understanding of the situation.

“Anyone who’s been through the trauma of losing a child would know the impact is massive.”

The Baggies have slapped a ‘hands-off’ notice on James McClean after he kissed the club’s badge in midweek when he scored following links with Burnley and Celtic.

Pardew said: “We’ve had no bids, and I don’t see me moving him on or him wanting to go. I don’t see that scenario.”
