Tottenham and Everton have joined the list of clubs keeping tabs on German wonderkid Jann-Fiete Arp.

Striker Arp, 17, has a growing number of admirers following his record-breaking emergence this season.

Arp has broken into the Hamburg first team and became the first player born in 2000 to play and then score in the Bundesliga during this campaign.

His two goals in five starts for strugglers Hamburg have come off the back of a successful period at youth level for club and country which underlined Arp's potential.

He scored 26 times in 21 games for Hamburg's under-17s last season before netting seven in five games for Germany's under-17s at the Euros in Croatia and adding another five in five games during October's World Cup in India, which was won by England.

Chelsea were keen to sign Arp last summer before his spectacular breakthrough and have retained their interest while Arsenal and Manchester City are keen too.

Now Spurs and Everton are also tracking the progress of Arp, whose current Hamburg deal runs out in 2019.

He has been likened to Harry Kane and admits the Spurs star is a player he looks up to.

He said: "There are many good strikers that you can learn a lot from by watching. But if there was just one player I had to pick as my role model, it's Harry Kane.

"He plays the way I want to play. He's pacy and very comfortable with and without the ball. It's difficult to stop him. You need to pay attention for 90 minutes because he can score at any time."
