On July 6 2009 Cristiano Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled as a Real Madrid player in front of a packed out Santiago Bernabeu.
The Portugal star had sealed a world record £80million move leaving Manchester United after six incredible seasons.
It was a transfer that redefined the game as we knew it and reinstated Real Madrid as one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Nine seasons later and the 32-year-old has scored 411 goals in 401 games, won La Liga twice, the Champions League three times and the Copa del Rey twice.
Last week the four-time Ballon d'Or winner invited former Red Devils teammate Rio Ferdinand into his home for a personal one-on-one interview following the launch of the new Nike Mercurials -The Chapter 5: Cut to Brilliance boots.
Ronaldo opened up on his first day at Real Madrid, he said: "When I landed here in Madrid and started to feel the atmosphere I thought it was a game because there were many people.
"These people, they're coming here just to see me? It was a great surprise for me. It was an unbelievable day. I was so proud. The people love football here in Spain so it was a great day for me.
"I just thought in my mind to show my level, to show that I am a different player and this is what I did.
"I arrived, I had a fantastic first season and I improve every season and it was a great experience. But I never forget the Red Devils."
Ferdinand also asked Ronaldo about his development at Manchester United.
"I learned. I learned to be better and better," replied Ronaldo. "To be around the best players in the world I learned two things - to mix talent with hard work you can be a huge player.
"And I think I am in this role."
