Philippe Coutinho has taken to social media to pay tribute to Liverpool super fan Curtis Allen.

Curtis tragically passed away from lymphoblastic leukaemia aged 17, after he was diagnosed with the disease in August 2016.

Brave Curtis was able to meet his Anfield hero Coutinho last November thanks to a team up between the Reds and the Make a Wish Foundation in what he described as "the best day of his life".

And the Brazilian has given the ultimate respect to Curtis by posting a heartfelt message on his Instagram, accompanied by a picture of the pair.

Coutinho wrote: "It was with great sadness to hear the sad news that our Curtis Allen has passed away.

"He was a great fan of Liverpool FC and it was a real honour and joy to have been able to meet Curtis.

"He had such a vibrant personality. My thoughts and prays are go out to his family and we are all thinking of you. GOD bless you! #youwillneverwalkalone."

Curtis also grabbed selfies with Gini Wijnaldum and Dejan Lovren and met with Jurgen Klopp and other Reds stars on his trip to Melwood training ground.

“It was the best day of my life,” Curtis told the Liverpool Echo.

“In the future, if I'm feeling down, all I have to do is look at my photos and watch the video and it will boost me back up again.”
