Chelsea are reviewing their club structure after Michael Emenalo quit as technical director this past week.

Emenalo, who was positioned below the board but above first-team manager Antonio Conte at Chelsea, is set for pastures new elsewhere in Europe.

The former Nigerian international was involved in recruitment of players, implementing the loan system that is used by the club and oversaw the academy programme.

Chelsea announced that they were considering a change to their set-up as part of the process of replacing Emenalo.

But who are the Stamford Bridge power brokers who will be deciding who takes which role?

Here's the current hierarchy, which is headed by Roman Abramovich...

OWNER: Roman Abramovich

Not only the most powerful at Chelsea, but also one of the most powerful men in football.

Abramovich has invested over £1billion into Chelsea since he bought out previous owner Ken Bates in 2003.

His reign has seen numerous Premier League titles, plus also a Champions League triumph.

The Russian billionaire will also completely fund the building of the new Stamford Bridge, which will begin at the start of this coming summer.

CHAIRMAN: Bruce Buck

Buck is regularly the public face of the board, mainly due to Abramovich's desire to remain as anonymous as possible.

He is an American lawyer who took over as chairman when the club was taken over in 2003.

Buck is a close ally of Abramovich and was involved in the deal for the Russian to sell his oil firm, Sibneft, to Gazprom in 2005.

He attends the majority of Chelsea matches up and down the country.

DIRECTOR: Marina Granovskaia

Granovskaia is one of the most powerful women in football (

Granovskaia is widely regarded one of the most powerful women in football.

She very much has a hands-on approach to her work, regularly being involved in player contracts and the negotiating of mega-money transfers.

Granovskaia, who was born in Russia, has been working closely with Abramovich since 1997, where she started working as his PA.

While she may not be a commonly-known name on the streets, she is considered a silent assassin of the transfer market.

DIRECTOR: Eugene Tenenbaum

Ukrainian-born accountant Tenenbaum is not known to be a big football fan.

He joined the Chelsea board alongside Abramovich in 2003.

Tenenbaum previously worked with Abramovich at Sibneft, where he was the head of corporate finance.

Like with Buck and Granovskaia, Ambramovich is close to Tenenbaum and sees him as one of his most trusted colleagues.

CLUB SECRETARY: David Barnard

Barnard has been at the club longer than Abramovich (

Barnard is one of the few remaining members of staff at Chelsea to survive from the pre-Abramovich era, although only joined the club one years before the takeover.

His role is predominantly administrative with the day-to-day running of the football department at the club.

A lot of his duties involve dealing with football authorities and ensuring that the club comply with relevant rulings.

He has worked in professional football for 30 years.

FIRST TEAM MANAGER: Antonio Conte

Conte has been in charge of Chelsea since the summer of 2016 (

Conte is the enthusiastic face of Chelsea Football Club in his role as first-team manager.

The Italian is in charge of first-team affairs on and off the pitch, but does not have quite as much control as he would probably like.

Player recruitment, for one, is a shared effort and Conte does not have a complete say in dealings.

He has, however, had plenty of success on the pitch since joining in 2016, winning the Premier League title in his first season.

ACADEMY DIRECTOR: Neil Bath

Bath has managed to build the most successful player development system in English football during his time at the club.

Some of the young Chelsea stars have maybe not received the first-team chance they would have liked, but there is plenty to shout about when it comes to youth success.

Bath is one of the most appreciated figures at Chelsea, while he is also widely regarded further afield.

He first joined the Chelsea schoolboys coaching staff in a part-time role back in 1993.
