Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has made the huge claim he can take free-kicks just like Red Devils legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Real Madrid forward made a name for himself with his stunning ability from dead-ball situations during his time at Old Trafford.

He isn't quite as prolific from set-pieces today, but there was a time when most of the free-kicks he struck would cause goalkeepers all sorts of trouble.

And it wasn't just his unique style - the way he rejected the David Beckham-style curling shot over the wall for a knuckleball approach - that caught the eye.

Everything about his set-pieces, from his iconic stance, to his run up, to the way in which he struck the ball, saw him stand out above everyone else in world football.

It is for all these reasons that Rashford claiming he can match the Portuguese is a pretty big deal, and one United fans will be hoping is true.

When asked whether his goal against Celta in the Europa League last season was inspired by Ronaldo, Rashford told reporters: "No, it's actually a different technique.

"I can do it like he [Ronaldo] does it but I haven't done it yet."

The England international is understandably feeling confident in his own ability at the moment, as he has been impressive for both his club and country.

The teenager has notched six times in 13 appearances for England and Man United, and bagged two assists in the Red Devils 4-0 win over Crystal Palace last time out.
