Jurgen Klopp admits Manchester United and Manchester City’s flying starts have turned up the heat on him at Liverpool.
Table-topping City and United are both unbeaten, and already five points ahead of manager Klopp’s stuttering Reds.
The German knows the situation is adding to Kopites’ frustrations, but insists he can only control what happens at Anfield.
“Of course,” he said, before Saturday's trip back to the site of their midweek Carabao Cup loss to Leicester. “Especially when the Manchester teams are flying — that makes it even more difficult.
“But I cannot change this. What I can do is cool the situation here and do the right things again and work on the other things. That is how it is always.”
Klopp insists he will not panic at Liverpool’s run of four games without a win, which has seen them stumble in the Premier League and go out of the League Cup.
He is remaining calm because he feels his team are playing good football.
“You really think there would be one per cent of a reason I would panic?” he said. “We have eight points. In four games we were the clear, better side, but we didn’t get the results.
“We win the football game and everybody is happy - we don’t win and everyone has enough reasons why we will never win a football game again.
“It’s always the same, like this playing good football, but you have no results and the same defending problems as 500 years ago. It’s always the same.
“You can talk about this, but I cannot think like this. I’m not in panic. I don’t think that is the main message at the moment, not to get in panic because I cannot imagine that anybody thinks about this.”
