Manchester United eased to another comfortable victory as they cast aside rock-bottom Crystal Palace 4-0 at Old Trafford.

The hosts got off to a perfect start when Juan Mata opened the scoring in the third minute, when he steered home a Marcus Rashford pass from ten years out.

Marouane Fellaini doubled their advantage ten minutes before the break when he slotted home an Ashley Young cross from a couple of yards out.

A third followed shortly after the break when an unmarked Fellaini home from four yards out.

Romelu Lukaku completed the rout with his seventh Premier League goal of the season with four minutes remaining.

The defeat means Palace remain pointless at the bottom of the table, yet to score a single goal. United - temporarily at least - move past their cross-town rivals City at the top of the Premier League.

Smalling 6 - Strong in the air and decent awareness throughout on his first Premier League start of the season.

Young 7 - Solid defensively and a real threat down the left flank. Provided the assist for Fellaini's first.
