Liverpool have reportedly sacked head physio Andy Renshaw.

Renshaw was promoted to the first-team just over a year ago following Chris Morgan's departure.

However, Jurgen Klopp has decided to make further changes with Renshaw now leaving the club, reports the Telegraph.

The German has restructured the club's sports science department since his arrival, with Ryland Morgans departing shortly afterwards.

But the timing of Renshaw's departure comes as something of a surprise.

Adam Lallana is Liverpool's only long-term absentee due to a thigh injury sustained in pre-season.

There were also concerns over Philippe Coutinho at the start of the campaign although his injury problems coincided with Barcelona's interest in taking him to the Nou Camp.

Renshaw worked within the club's academy from 2009 before replacing Morgans.

It is unclear who will assume the responsibilities when Liverpool take on Manchester United after the international break.
