Liverpool remain without a win from their two Champions League Group E.
The Reds were held by Sevilla at Anfield in their opener and couldn't find a way past Spartak in Russia.

The Brazilian was his side's standout performer in Moscow - but who else caught John Cross' eye?
Here are his player ratings.
Liverpool
Karius 6 - Big question marks over whether he should have saved Fernando’s free kick.
Alexander-Arnold 7 - Forget defending, bombed forward at every opportunity. Powerful performance.
Matip 6 - Looks a bit cumbersome at times, coped pretty well and was fairly solid.
Lovren 6 - Even he enjoys getting forward for set pieces. Doesn’t anyone stay back?
Moreno 6 - For once, stayed back and kept his position in defence. Fairly solid at left back.
Can 5 - Booked. Caught in possession, lacks discipline and bombs forward a bit too much.
Henderson 6 - A pretty thankless task trying to be Liverpool’s only defensive minded midfielder.
Coutinho 8 MotM - Scored in his second successive game. Safe to say, he is back in the groove.
Salah 7 - Missed a big chance but was a menace down the right, created chances and openings.
Firmino 7 - Fantastic energy and movement. Spartak’s defenders couldn’t catch him.
Mane 7 - His pace, movement and power are so important for Liverpool. Never stopped.
