Jurgen Klopp refused to confirm whether Philippe Coutinho will be involved when Liverpool host Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Brazilian is yet to feature for the Reds this season having missed out on a dream move to Barcelona during the summer.

Coutinho handed in a transfer request but failed to secure the switch and will now be reintegrated into Klopp's plans.

The German said: "I could give you an idea at this stage. But I’m sure Liverpool supporters around the world are ready to wait another 24 hours. He is fit, he is healthy.

"All the information about the line-up you will have to wait until tomorrow. But he is here."

Klopp also spoke about the ban handed to Sadio Mane, whose three-match suspension for his collision with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson was upheld after an appeal.

"I’m not sure if I’m disappointed, I didn’t expect anything different. I thought out appeal was absolutely right," he said.

"We never appealed the red card, only the length of the suspension. But actually I never thought it would happen. Only because I am used to things like this.

"It’s not an English thing. Lots of situations in the last few weeks that were similar. If you want, all the other players were lucky. Only Sadio was not lucky, and Ederson was not lucky.

"We don’t want to underestimate this, it looks awful and Ederson was lucky nothing more serious happened in this situation.

"I know if it was the other way around, it wouldn’t have been different to what Man City think at this moment.

"The most important thing for me to say is not even 1% of Sadio wanted to bring the goalkeeper in danger. He wanted to get the ball.

"It’s important he wants to do that in all the games he plays. We cannot change this. It’s a sport where things like this happen.

"I don’t blame the ref for the decision. He didn’t give the red card immediately, but when he saw the player bleeding, I would have made the same decision.

"It was our duty to appeal, but as I said after the game, it was a waste of time."
