Premier League clubs collectively spent £177m on injured players in 2016/17 with Manchester City worst off by losing out on £18.3m.
The grand total is £20m more than the previous season with 713 injuries counted over the course of the season.
The Blues paid out £611,204 on average for each player, while West Brom were least affected spending just £1.8m due to sustaining a league low of 15 injuries, according to a study by JLT Speciality.
Manchester United and Arsenal were also badly hit, both in terms of total paid out and the sheer volume of injuries: Both wracked up 51 knocks over the campaign, with the Red Devils paying out £17.8m and the Gunners just short of that at £16.2m.
Premier League champions benefited from a low number of injuries at just 21, hiding their smaller squad and meaning just £6.6m was paid out.
With new signings Tiemoue Bakayoko, Alvaro Morata and Antonio Rudiger, the Blues will not need to rely on such fortune with injuries.
