Ryan Giggs has taken aim at Ander Herrera for publicly criticising his Manchester United team-mates' attitude and desire.

The Red Devils were given a rude awakening by Huddersfield with the Terriers pulling off a shock 2-1 win.

Jose Mourinho raged after hearing the Spaniard's public outburst, insisting he should join him in the post-match press conference.

“I heard Herrera in the flash interviews saying the attitude and desire was poor,” Mourinho said. “Oh my god.

“When a player says that, when a player feels that, I think they should all go to the press conference and explain why, because I cannot explain that.”

Giggs backed up Mourinho's comments by warning Herrera that he is taking a risk by criticising his colleagues.

"I am a little bit surprised at Ander Herrera's comments though because you wouldn't really comment about your team-mates, you leave that to the manager," Giggs is quoted as saying in the Manchester Evening News.

“When you start questioning you team-mates' work rates, even if they weren't at it, it can set a dangerous precedent.”
