Harry Kane has been urged to stay at Tottenham and fire his boyhood club to the title.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hopes to one day give Spurs hotshot Kane a decision to make over his White Hart Lane future.

Mourinho has decided he would rather break United’s transfer record to sign Kane than former Old Trafford hero Cristiano Ronaldo who is currently unsettled at Real Madrid.

But Spurs favourite David Ginola said: “Harry Kane should stay at Spurs for Spurs to win the league next season.

“For Spurs it is very important because they finished runners up, had a great season and they need to keep their best assets if they want to win anything in the next few tears.

“Harry Kane is one of their best assets. Him and Dele Alli.”

Kane is currently tied to Spurs until 2022, loves the club and has no desire to leave.

Last season he scored 29 league goals to become the first back-to-back Premier League golden boot winner since Robin Van Persie in 2013.

He also joined top-flight legends Alan Shearer, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry by becoming only the fourth player to score 20 league goals three seasons running.

Everton are demanding a £100m fee for Romelu Lukaku, who Kane pipped to the Golden boot, amid interest from champions Chelsea.

And Ginola told talkSPORT said: “I think it would be similar [to Lukaku], in the same region of money for Kane.

“Remember when Gareth Bale left Spurs to go to Real Madrid for £80m or £100m?

“Now you have a few players worth this kind of money.

“And when you think about strikers who can score more than 20-25 goals in the league you need to put the money on the table for them.”
