Gary Neville believes Jack Wilshere was lucky to be on the pitch for 'diving' moments before he scored against Chelsea.

The 26-year-old Arsenal midfielder, who was already on a booking, went down very easily on the edge of the Chelsea area and was looking for a foul.

But referee Anthony Taylor waved play on, and opted against showing Wilshere a second yellow card, which would have seen him walk.

"It's either a booking or a free-kick surely," said Neville, while providing commentary on the game for Sky Sports.

He added that the Englishman was "very lucky" to avoid punishment.

Chelsea were left feeling even more hard done by just moments later when Wilshere broke the deadlock for the home side.

Latching on to the ball in the area, the midfielder fired past Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea goal to put Arsenal ahead.

The Blues responded almost immediately through Eden Hazard however, who converted from the penalty spot following a Hector Bellerin foul on the Belgian.
