Costa, who is yet to report for duty at Stamford Bridge this season, can still be seen in a virtual Blues shirt as the 63rd-ranked player in the world.
He is one spot ahead of FIFA 17 cover star Marco Reus.
EA Sports has revealed the players listed from 80 to 61 in the next blockbuster release of the game.
Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta (76), former Blues and current Arsenal keeper Petr Cech (66) and Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery (61) all appear.
On Monday, England's Dele Alli climbed two spots from last year to No.84 as the players considered 81-100 were unveiled.
Real Madrid's Marco Asensio was in the top 100 at No.96.
