Cesc Fabregas appeared ready to square up to Alexis Sanchez before pulling the Arsenal forward in for a hug.
The Chilean had been remonstrating with the referee after conceding a foul against the Spaniard in Chelsea's area, when Arsenal were pushing to break the deadlock.
Replays showed Sanchez caught Fabregas with his foot as the former Arsenal midfielder attempted to clear the ball.
Frustrated that the decision had gone Chelsea's way, ending the Gunners' attack, Sanchez shouted at referee Anthony Taylor.
At that moment Fabregas leaped to his feet and grabbed hold of Sanchez, as if ready to complain about the tough tackle.
But instead of shouting at the Arsenal forward, he simply grabbed hold of him and pulled him in for a big hug.
Sanchez couldn't help but break out of his angry mood, and could be seen smiling back at the Spaniard as he held him.
Fabregas has a strained relationship with the Gunners supporters, as a result of signing for Chelsea, but it seems the majority of them thought what he did was pretty hilarious on Wednesday.
