UEFA mock Arsenal and Chelsea over pathetic Premier League title challenges after 2-2 draw

Whether it was by design or accident, UEFA’s tweet reflecting on Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night summed up the full misery of the London rivals’ respective Premier League title challenges.

Hector Bellerin’s 92nd minute equaliser earned Arsenal a point in a pulsating London derby which ultimately did little to help the cause of neither team, who fell even further adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City.

Although Pep Guardiola’s side have been near faultless this term, still unbeaten having won 20 of their 22 fixtures, the seismic gap between, highlighted by a tweet from UEFA’s Europa League account, represents an embarrassing chasm for both clubs.

Needless to say, Arsenal fans in particular, who will see their side take on Swedish minnows Ostersunds in the last 32 of the Europea League, were not exactly glad to be reminded of just how far they have fallen from grace…
