Marcos Rojo has revealed the extent of his gruesome head wound after Manchester United’s defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
In an intense derby at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho’s men suffered a 2-1 loss to Pep Guardiola’s side, while after the match, players and staff from both teams were involved in a brawl around City’s dressing room area.
Rojo reportedly led United’s players towards City’s changing room having heard that Mourinho had been involved in a confrontation with Ederson.
But these events came after the Argentine was forced off at half-time during the match due to a serious head injury.
Rojo collided with David Silva during the first half and was left with blood pouring out of his head.
The defender required a substantial bandage to be able to continue playing until the break, at which point he was replaced by Victor Lindelof.
Rojo subsequently required two staples to close the large wound on his forehead, according to an image released by Ole.
Rojo is now a doubt for United’s fixture against Bournemouth on Wednesday evening.
‘He’s a brave guy,’ Mourinho told MUTV on Tuesday.
‘I don’t know, let’s see if he can be ready for the match. but if he’s not ready, we have other alternatives to play.’
