Simon Mignolet still believes Liverpool can chase down Premier League leaders Manchester City.
The Liverpool goalkeeper and his team-mates have endured a difficult season so far and are 12 points behind City.
City have been superb this campaign and have won all but one of their eleven league games.
Liverpool have already suffered a heavy defeat to City this season, a 5-0 loss in September, but Mignolet is not giving up hope the Reds can complete a stunning comeback.
‘City are doing really well at this time,’ he said.
‘They’ve got loads of quality. But like always the Premier League is a long journey, there’s a long way to go.’

He added: ‘After that win at West Ham we closed the gap [on others].
‘In the busy winter period anything can happen.
‘It’s up to us to be challengers and that’s what we’ll try to do.’

Mignolet is on international duty with Belgium, but will return for Liverpool against Southampton on November 18.
Liverpool play Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Everton during the winter fixtures with a tricky away trip to the Emirates on December 22.
As with all Premier League teams, Liverpool have a hectic Christmas schedule to handle and will play ten games matches between December 10 and the end of January.
