Liverpool are readying a move to sign Manchester City hero David Silva, according to reports.

Silva is one of City’s most successful players of all-time and the 31-year-old is attempting to win his third Premier League title this season under Pep Guardiola.

The midfielder has made 11 appearances for City this season as Guardiola’s men sit top of the table, eight points ahead of second-placed Manchester United.

However, the Spaniard is out of contract at the Etihad in the summer of 2019 and it yet to commit his long-term future to the club with a new deal.

The Sun suggest both Liverpool and Inter Milan are eyeing moves for Silva as his talks over a new contract stall.

It’s claimed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp views the Spain international as a potential alternative to Adam Lallana at Anfield.

Liverpool are also concerned for Emre Can’s future on Merseyside, with Juventus continuing to express a strong interest in the German.
