Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho believes Paul Pogba ‘is not happy’ playing with Blaise Matuidi in France’s midfield.

Pogba has been out of action after being forced off in the first-half of United’s 3-0 defeat of Basel and the 24-year-old is hopeful of returning to face Swansea on October 24.

The ex-Juventus star had been thriving alongside Nemanja Matic in United’s midfield but Mourinho claims he is not enjoying his role with the national side under Didier Deschamps.

Asked about Pogba, Mourinho told French outlet Telefoot: ‘He can make football history. He has talent.

‘[Partnered] with Matuidi [in the France team], I think he isn’t happy.’

Despite Pogba’s absence, France qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia after a 2-1 victory over Belarus at the Stade de France.
