Real Madrid will demand that Manchester United include David De Gea in any deal to sign Gareth Bale next summer, according to reports.

United had targeted the Wales international during the last transfer window as Jose Mourinho wanted another attacking addition to his squad along with Romelu Lukaku.

But United were unable to strike a deal with Madrid, although the Spanish champions have now hinted that a deal could be possible next year.

The Sunday Mirror claims that United believe next summer will be their best chance of finally signing the 28-year-old, but are concerned that Madrid will want De Gea in return.

And Mourinho is reluctant to allow his first-choice goalkeeper to leave Old Trafford.

The Sunday Mirror claims that De Gea is happy to stay at Old Trafford but is keen on a move to Madrid in the future.

Earlier this week, reports in Spain claimed that there were growing concerns over Bale’s constant injury issues and that Florentino Perez was considering selling the forward.

But it’s claimed that Madrid would only considered a deal if they were able to recoup the €100 million (£85.2m) spent to sign him four years ago.
