Rafa Benitez is one of the leading names on Everton’s shortlist to replace Ronald Koeman, according to reports.

The Dutchman is under pressure at Goodison Park after guided the club to just two wins in the Premier League so far.

The Sun claims that Everton’s players are ‘convinced’ that Koeman will be sacked and reports that Benitez is among the managers being considered by majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

The 57-year-old spent six years as Liverpool boss and led the club to that remarkable victory over AC Milan in the Champions League final in 2005.

The Spaniard, who reportedly still has a house in Merseyside, also won the FA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup during his time in charge at Anfield.

At Newcastle, Benitez managed to guide the team back into the Premier League last season but was reportedly frustrated with the club’s board over their transfer policy this summer.

Benitez had targeted moves for Tammy Abraham and Willy Caballero, but Newcastle failed to get both deals over the line.

So far this season, Benitez has guided Newcastle to 10th in the Premier League with three wins and a draw from seven games.
