Manchester United and Chelsea transfer target Pietro Pellegri is like a ‘young Zlatan Ibrahimovic’, according to the player’s agent.

At the age of 16, Genoa striker Pellegri is rated as one of the most promising youngsters in Italy and has already scored three goals in seven Serie A games.

United, Chelsea, AC Milan and PSG all reportedly expressed interest in Pellegri after he burst onto the scene last season and speculation intensified only last month amid reports his agent was in England.

The teenager, who is a regular for Italy’s U17 side, has a bright future ahead of him and has all the ‘characteristics of a young Zlatan Ibrahimovic’, according to Giueseppe Riso.

‘We are talking about a very powerful striker,’ the agent told French outlet FootMercato.

‘Let’s just say he has the characteristics of a young Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He’s not just a revelation in Italy, but one of the best young European players.

‘Don’t forget, at the age of 16, he bagged a brace against Lazio.

‘It’s not surprising he has been linked with PSG, as many big European clubs are tracking him.’

Pellegri holds the record as the youngest player to ever appear in Serie A and the league’s youngster goalscorer. Last month he revealed his admiration for Ibrahimovic, who is set to return to action for Manchester United at the start of next year.

‘My idol is Zlatan Ibrahimovic,’ the teenage striker said. ‘He’s the best striker in the world.’
